Malachite Green For Aquarium Fish

Malachite Green is also effective against common external fungal infections of fishes and eggs which include Achlya and Saprolegnia. An extensive body of literature supports its use as an effective agent in the control of fungus on fish eggs.

NOTE: In general - Malachite Green is not recommended for use with invertebrates.

 

Malachite Green is believed to bind strongly with the internal cytoplasmic structures of parasites and interfere in normal metabolism.

Malachite green (MG) is an antifungal agent approved for use in aquarium fish. It is not approved for use in fish intended for human consumption.

Directions for Use: Use 1 teaspoon (approximately 5 ml) per 38 Litre of water for most treatments. This produces a concentration of 0.05 ppm (see Toxicity and Suggested Treatment Procedures for qualifying information). At this concentration, 120ml of Malachite Green will treat 910 Litre of water.
